Welcome to another round the world music adventure. In today’s broadcast we have some highlights from our interviews with artists at WOMAD starting with Chiekh Lo talking about the significance of the track Seyni from his forthcoming album Jamm. We have Steven Sogo talking about his aspirations plus Nick Page explaining the cold war paranoia that influenced the new Syriana project. After nearly bursting our eardrums at DAM’s set, we caught up with Tamer, sisha in one hand computer in the other as he blogged about the gig. He tells us about some of the problems they encounter with their political concerts.

We also include the presentation of the Songlines music awards to Staff Benda Bilili and to Justin & Juldeh plus the Lucy Duran presentation of the fRoots award to Staff Benda Bilili for album of the year.
